Buttock Augmentation

Buttock Augmentation

Do you feel unhappy with the contour and volume of your buttocks? Nowadays, thanks to cosmetic surgery, you can improve your self-image through buttock augmentation, which can be done through liposuction and fat liposculpture (Micro Fat Grafting Transfer).

As indicated in a recent publication of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), there is a paucity of treatments for the woman troubled by flat buttocks. Although solid and semi-solid buttock implants have been recently approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and may be a good option for some patients; these implants pose a number of disadvantages including significant scarring, implant shifts, possible foreign body reaction, capsule contracture, difficulty of dissection, more severe pain, prolonged recovery which might last anywhere from 10 days to 3 weeks, and the fact that intramuscular medical injections in the buttocks area are no longer possible after the surgery.

However, now rounder and fuller buttocks can be achieved using the safe and effective micro fat grafting technique.

Approximately 50% to 60% of the fat grafted remains in place long-term, resulting in high levels of patient and physician satisfaction. Furthermore, other advantages are that the "material" used is your own fat, greater augmentation is possible (800ml vs. 420ml with implants), there is no difficulty of dissection, the incision size is smaller (3mm vs. 5-7cm when using implants), pain is mild and brief -lasting 3 to 5 days-, intramuscular medication injections are possible after the surgery, and the possibility of foreign body reaction in your body is eliminated.

The Buttocks Augmentation is done under local anesthesia and sedation. This surgery can be done with other surgical procedures.

Length of procedure: 1-2 hours
Type of anesthesia: Local anesthesia plus sedation
Hospital stay: 1-2 nights
Post-operatory stay in Costa Rica: 12 days
