Forehead lift

Forehead Lift

A forehead lift is used to improve some facial problems such as drooping eyebrows or drooping skin on the outer part of the eyes, furrowed forehead and horizontal frown lines at the top of the nose. It lifts the forehead, brows and skin around the eyes. The outcome is smoother forehead skin and softer lines between the eyes.

During surgery an incision is made across the top of the head, one or two inches behind the hairline (this minimizes the possibility of the scar being visible). The skin of the forehead is gently lifted and portions of the facial muscles and excess skin are removed.

After these steps are completed, the skin of the forehead will be gently pulled upward, and any excess skin at the point of incision will be removed. The incisions are then closed with stitches or clips.

The forehead lift is often performed in conjunction with a facelift or eyelid surgery.

The desired result is a more alert, rested and youthful look.
