For a more masculine look...
Gynecomastia or "woman-like breasts" is a problem that affects approximately 40% - 60% of men and is caused by excess glandular tissue, fat or both.
The procedure
removes fat and glandular tissue from the breasts. In some cases excess skin is also reduced by 30% or
removed. The result is a firmer, flatter, and better contoured chest that improves the overall appeareance of the man.
If excess glandular tissue is the primary cause of breast enlargement, it will be excised, or cut out, with a scalpel. The excision may be performed alone or in conjuction with liposuction. In a typical procedure, an incision is made in an inconspicous location -either on the edge of the areola or in the underarm area.
The excess glandular tissue, fat and skin are removed from around the areola and from the sides and bottom of the breast. Major reductions that involve the removal of a significant amount of tissue and skin may require larger incisions that result in more conspicuous scars. If liposuction is used to remove excess fat, the cannula is usually inserted through the existing incisions.
If excessive fatty tissue is the main cause of gynecomastia, then liposuction will be used to remove the excess fat. A small incision is made either around the edge of the areola or in the underarm area.
The results of the procedure are significant and permanent.
