Hair Micro Grafts

If you suffer from severe hair fall, and you look older because of it, hair grafts might be the solution to your problem. The grafts are taken in one piece from the back of the head or towards one side, but always inside the hairline.

One or two hairs are taken for each graft and are grafted one by one where needed. The hair grafts are normally done at an average of 400 to 500 grafts per session. Sometimes it is necessary to have more than one session. The procedure takes from two to four hours. An incision or cut of about 1 or 2 millimeters is done where the graft is to be fixed. The gap between the grafts is about 2 to 3 millimetres, or a tenth of an inch. The scars close completely and they always remain hidden inside the hairline.

A padded bandage with no compression must be used to avoid pain and to keep the grafts in place. It is recommended that you wash your hair two days after the surgery, and use crushed ice in a light plastic bag wrapped in a towel over the area to reduce any discomfort.

This is an outpatient procedure that is done under local anesthesia and sedation.
