Neck lift

Lower Rhytidectomy

Some people suffer from an excess of loose skin or an excess of fat in their neck area. In many cases, the platysma muscles are either loose, covered by a layer of fat, or both.

The neck lift may consist of the removal of the fat over, between and under the inner borders of the platysma muscles. In other cases where the muscles are loose, they will need to be re-adjusted. The borders of the muscles are stitched together to reduce and/or prevent sagging or laxitude.

A natural look is the goal of the procedure, which is usually achieved through one or both of these techniques. After the procedure the contours of the face and neck will be much improved.

The necklift is done under local anesthesia and sedation. This surgery can be done with other surgical procedures.

Length of procedure: 1-2 hours
Type of anesthesia: Local anesthesia and sedation
Hospital stay: 1-2 nights
Post-operatory stay in Costa Rica: 12-14 days
